1. Major Arpeggios

Welcome to the basics on sweep picking. Sweeping is an awesome technique that is used use to play arpeggios rapidly. When played properly, those arpeggios sound very killer like !. So.... to sweep properly, you have to have a lot of time and patience. I hope I can help you becoming a top "sweeper" with those practice licks I have here for you. One thing is very critical, you have to start slow and work your way up to speed, if you start to fast you will probably not reach a "clean sound". So let's get to it

Pattern 1 (root note on G string "and e")	Let's take this pattern and put it into practice with a C# Major Arpeggio Exercise

Pattern 2 (root note on B string)	Again.... Let's put it into practice with a C Major Arpeggio Note : This one is probably one of the most commonly used arpeggios !

Pattern 3 (root note on E string)	Practice : E Major Arpeggio

TIP: Most of the Shredders use the neck pickup because it sound much cleaner than the bridge pickup !

2. Minor Arpeggios

Pattern 1 (root note on G string "and e")	Practice : A Minor Arpeggio

Pattern 2 (root note on B string)	Practice : C# Minor Arpeggio

Pattern 3 (root note on E string)	Practice : E Minor Arpeggio Note ; This one takes some practice, the trick is that you have to roll you finger over the strings so that it mutes the other ones and keeps them from ringing. Start very slow and precise !

Pattern 1 (Locrian - root note on B string) could also be a Diminished Arpeggio !	Practice : B "Locrian" (Minor b5) Arpeggio

Pattern 2 (Diminished - root note "any")	Practice : B Dim. Arpeggio
